Marketing for Attorneys through a $10M Boost from Google
Would Google be a good partner in your marketing for attorneys efforts? As part of its 10th birthday celebration, Google announced this morning that it will pay as much as $10 million to support an idea that will have a positive and wide-reaching impact on peoples' lives. The name of Google's project is 10^100, or "10 to the 100th." Through public input and a panel of judges, Google will choose its top 20 ideas and up to five winning ideas, which will be announced in February 2009. If there is only one winner, that entry will receive $10M; if there are two winners, each will receive $5M; etc. The point is that Google will pay out a total of $10M.
According to Google, the ideas can be small, large, simple or driven by technology - as long as they will have an impact. Google has identified improved health, improved access to education, providing food and shelter, and fostering clean energy as some of the examples of categories for ideas. Those who win the contest need not have the skills or expertise to implement their ideas, and individuals may submit multiple ideas.
Ideas may be submitted to Google through October 20, 2008 at the following address: www.project10tothe100.com.
It makes sense to consider submitting an idea to Google. For instance, why not submit an idea relating to improved access to justice or to legal services for those who cannot afford them? It's a tremendous opportunity to have an impact in the world. A law firm or lawyer submitting an idea to Google could also bolster internet marketing for attorneys efforts by sending out an online press release related to the idea submission.
Combining an idea submission with some positive press coverage should be considered. Internet marketing for lawyers can take various forms, and Google's $10M offer is one potential avenue.
